The California Alliance for Sewer System Excellence (CASSE) is a collaborative organization of wastewater collection system agencies dedicated to sharing knowledge, advancing best practices, and improving system performance throughout California.

Our History

  • Founded in Sacramento in 2011
  • Rooted in statewide collaboration among wastewater professionals
  • Inspired by early benchmarking partnerships
  • Launched with 24 charter member agencies across California
  • Represents agencies maintaining over 36,000 miles of sewer infrastructure
  • Charter members serve nearly one-third of California’s wastewater collection systems
